New Samsung Set Top box (GX-SH530CF) not compatible with Panasonic 4K TV

I ust bought a new Panasonic 4K TV (58AX800) and when connecting the Samsung Set Top box (GX-SH530CF) to the 4K HDMI port (HDMI Port 4) on the TV, there is only images but no sound.  When I connect back the HD Hubstation to the same HDMI port 4, everything works perfect.  Is StarHub or Samsung releasing a new firmware to fix the problem?

Do you have another HDMI cable to try if it works? Also, currently our set-top box and contents do not support 4k content at the moment. You may like to try on other HDMI ports to see if it works

Yes, I have tried changing at least 3 HDMI cables, swapping to
another Samsung Set Top box (I have 3 in my house), and also tried using
the HD Hubstation (which works fine). I do know that StarHub do not have
any 4K contents now and other non-4K HDMI ports on the TV supports the
Samsung Set Top box fine, however since I have wall mounted the TV, I do
prefer to use the HDMI 4K port for future protection so that I do not have
to move the TV to reconnect the ports.

I have a very strong feeling that Samsung needs to update their firmware to
solve this sound problems as there are no problems using the HD Hubstation
on the HDMI 4K port.

What is the version of the firmware that you are currently on? Is it 11.34?

Hi KaiBoon,

 

I do not know the firmware version but it should be the latest one as I have always upgrade the firmware whenever I see a message showing on my screen asking me to do so.  The last time I rebooted the Samsung Set Top box was Monday, so unless there are a new firmware released yesterday, else it should be running the latest firmware.
