Is dialing *100*54830# must even if roaming service is enabled and data travel is purchased?

I have international roaming service. For my overseas travel, I have purchased DT2 travel plan and I have received a confirmation SMS. Now, with all these, do I still need to dial *100*54830# to enable data roam service? If so, should I do it before leaving Singapore or landing in the destination? Please help to clarify.

Hi Nara, you should activate DataTravel before leaving Singapore, and these are the ways that you can activate DataTravel: 

 

Option 1:
Open My StarHub app on your mobile device
Scroll down and tap [Roam Manager]
Ensure that you have selected the correct mobile line. Alternatively, you may change the selected mobile line using [Filter] on the top right-hand corner
Go to [Manage Roaming Services]
Ensure that you have either [Pay As You Roam] or [International Roaming] turned on
Choose a DataTravel plan of your choice
Press [Submit]

Option 2:
SMS DT1 to 6818 for DataTravel Asia-Pacific 1GB at $5 for 3 days
SMS DT2 to 6818 for DataTravel Asia-Pacific 2GB at $15 for 30 days
SMS DT3 to 6818 for DataTravel Asia-Pacific 3GB at $20 for 30 days
SMS DTG2 to 6818 for DataTravel Global 2GB at $40 for 30 days
SMS DTG3 to 6818 for DataTravel Global 3GB at $50 for 30 days

Option 3:
Dial *100# and select option 5 to purchase the respective DataTravel plan.
