i was using the 1 week data roam plan recently @ Malaysia, and managed to get data roaming to work
Although i had the 4g and 4g+ connection; my actual connection speeds was extremely slow; at 80kpbs only.
I found the experience painful and slow.
Could Starhub publish the expected connection speeds for those countries that Data Roaming can achieve, so we know what to expect.
IS there anything that can be done to fix this.
Telco(s) cannot just publish in details, as each Telco do have Policy.
That is to say Telco(s) have to provide all its services are reliable, such as broadband connections issues as this is most common complained here.
If not, they could be "fine" &or "penalty" if not able to provide to meet the expectation.
Sometimes, customers should able to do their homework first.
If you are going to Malaysia, well for instance check on their Telco(s) network.
Refer to link: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_LTE_networks_in_Asia
Also to search or ask those who had connection in Malaysia, as we do have a lot of Malaysian here.
This will be more accurately as your Malaysia friends will able to give you.
On top of this, they may able to inform you on how to get best signal, etc..
Also do take note that Malaysia is too big and their network do have limit.
This is not Singapore as almost every single location must have connection.
Thank you for reading.
I am not Starhub staff or any Telco(s) &or related to.
I didn't have signal connectivity issues, as the subject states I had 4g or LTE signal but data thru put was slow.
Maybe best if someone from Starhub responds?
please send me a private message with your StarHub Account number, NRIC/FIN, contact number and email address and we’ll get in touch with you to assist you further. Thank you –Josephine
Hi Vinson, have you tried restarting your mobile or tried the SIM card in another phone?
Hi, Yes I've tried both the options. I have even called the hotline which advised me to key in the port and proxy for the APN. But the options have not helped.
In that case, can you PM me your details? I'll be needing your full name, NRIC/FIN and the prepaid number.
I am also facing the same issue. Previously been to batam having this slow speed. I thought it's normal. But then now I am at Malaysia it's also this slow speed. And I am going Korea later. So is there anyway to fix this?
Hi @ JaeT
Does reinstalling the roaming Prepaid APN using the Happy Prepaid App, restarting your handset or placing your SIM Card in another handset this morning help resolve this issue?
Let me know your full name, NRIC/FIN/Passport Number and Prepaid mobile number via Private Message and I'll be in touch.
