Cannot connect mobile data‏

I am Starhub prepaid user, I have an issue that I cannot connect to the internet using mobile data since yesterday night.
Last night I went to an indoor place that have no signal at all,
so I try to search for operator, registered to Starhub.
Since then, I cannot use mobile data anymore. Wifi still works.
 
I have tried to redownload and reinstall the configurations, still cannot work.
 
I have tried to insert my sim card to another phone,
and it still cannot use the mobile data, so I doubt is my phone issue.
 
My phone model is Samsung Galaxy S Duos (or S7562).

I actually email-ed StarHub Customer Care.

 

They reassured that my number is GPRS enabled, and I still have data balance.

They asked me to check whether my mobile data is switched on on my phone, or am I connected to StarHub network etc. Which these simple checks I have already done before asking in the forums or sending a query.

 

I have tried with another SIM card on my phone, and it works.

(This SIM is a Malaysia Maxis SIM btw, and I used mobile data roaming).

 

I have tried inserting my StarHub prepaid SIM card to another phone, some Sony Xperia model, which it downloads the configuration using Wifi. Mobile data still doesn't work on that Sony phone with my StarHub prepaid SIM card.

 

So, I am thinking this definitely is my StarHub prepaid card's issue.

 

What is a APN? Maybe I can try to manually add a APN to try...

Starhub has the worst prepaid data service I've ever encountered. On a 3 day trip to Singapore last week I bought 1gb data for $5 and could only use it for about 1 hr per day. It's definitely not the phone as the phone works with data all the time amd I changed SIM cards. This is a systemic issue with Starhub but they won't admit it of course. Starhubcares is full of **bleep** and they feed you stndard scripts for novice users and try to acoid the issue. They know what the issue is so just fix it or start losi g customers.

I also have this issue since few days back. Im wondering is my phone problem or Starhub problem.

It's probably not your problem. I work in Telco amd did exhaustive testing with different SIM cards and only Starhub could not connect. It's not a once off either I've tested Starhub prepaid data service over 3 months now and the verdict is that their service is really BAD. Singtel service seems good and I suppose M1 can't be any worse than Starhub!

I fixed it by switching to Singtel - not a single problem after that!
