StarHub Community User Data Migration Exercise

Important Announcement

Dear StarHub Community Members,

StarHub Community has undergone a user data migration exercise on 19 May 2017 and these are some things you'll need to know about the impact of the migration:

Passwords were not migrated

As we need to protect your data during the migration, your current password were not migrated over to the new platform. This affects all members. Please click here to set a new password.

Logging in now requires the username instead of email address or Facebook Login

If you have difficulties remembering your username, your password reset email will contain your username.

Some usernames were changed during migration

As part of the migration process, some usernames were changed for compatibility reasons. If you are affected, you can change your username after resetting your password and are logged in successfully.

We regret the inconvenience caused as we move on to a more enhanced authentication platform. If you would like to report an issue or share a feedback regarding this migration exercise, please proceed to this thread to leave a response. Thank you!

Best regards,

Howard Toh

Re: Starhub community annoucement

Hi Howard,

Thanks for the information and clarifying the issue. The worrying part is always follow a link ..... and it involved a password and login id. Furthermore, when I talk to Starhub customer service they told me they are not aware of this and that it is likely a scam. I just decide to confirm with you on this.

Anyway all clarified now.

Great

Hi @sonata1501

I fully agree with you and I did think about this when composing the email.

Unfortunately, since this is an online community forum, the only way apart from email is to put up a notice on the community page (which I did anyway).

To be fair to my customer service colleagues, they were not aware of this because this community forum is public forum for everyone including non customers.

Thanks for the opportunity to clarify and have a good weekend ahead!

Howard
