Today, LG Electronics introduced to the world their flagship phone for year 2014, the LG G3. LG G3 is developed under the Simple is the New Smart concept. LG G3 is packed with the best of what the current technology has to offer. Similar to its predecessor the LG G2, LG G3 has the power and volume buttons located at the back and is packed with clean and user friendly UI.
The key features of the new LG G3 includes:
5.5 inch Quad HD (1440p) diplay with 538 ppi
13MP OIS+ with Laser Auto Focus that can focus and shoot in almost a quarter of a second
Polished metallic skin on the rear that is lightweight and fingerprint-proof
Floating Arc form factor with Rear Keys
The display of G3 is absolutely stunning. When placed side-by-side with another flagship phone from another competitor, you can instantly tell that G3 definitely has the upper hand. LG G3 has very thin bezels, with a screen ratio of 76.4%. It has almost same physical size as Sony Xperia Z2 but with a much larger screen. LG also equipped G3 with a 3000mAh removable battery and advanced optimisation technologies to further maximise battery efficiency. Anyone who has tried LG G2 will know how long the battery last and LG G3 is just better, with the battery being removable!
Phyiscal size is actually similar to Sony Xperia Z2
LG G2 VS LG G3
LG has simplified the process of capturing pictures. Instead of tapping to focus before tapping the shutter button, the G3 enables users to focus and capture simultaneously by simply tapping on the subject to focus. The 2.1MP front facing camera has several new enhancements such as larger image sensor and aperture. Interesting gesture controls is also added to the front facing camera. Instead of the regular timed selfie mode, you can just clench your fist to initiate the shutter countdown timer!
Other new key features to LG G3 UI includes Smart Keyboard, Smart Notice and Smart Security.
As the name suggests, Smart Keyboard is an adaptive technology that learns as you type. It analyses your typing habits and reduces input errors by up to 75%.
What I really like is the Smart Notice function. It is like a personal assistant in your phone and provides suggestions and recommendations based on the user’s behaviour. Smart Notice will remind you of a call you have declined earlier, ask you to delete files or apps that you do not use and even reminds you to bring an umbrella out by looking at the weather forecast!
LG understands the importance of maintaining and securing confidential data when smartphones are shared, misplaced or stolen. With Knock Code, you are able to unlock your phone without actually turning on the screen. It has almost 80000 combinations making it one of the most secure unlocking methods out there. Content lock keeps personal files safe and hidden with 128 bit encryption, preventing the confidential files from being viewed. Lastly, the kill switch gives the users the ability to disable their phones and wiping the contents remotely so that personal information will not be compromised.
