Problems after moving to Fibre Broadband - dropped internet access

Hi All

I've seen a number of similar problems being posted on the forum. I'm experiencing intermittent internet access, the accessseems to be dropped every couple of minutes.

I had cable pereviously and all my hardware was fine.

changed to Fibre, and didnt like their router, couldn't get it to configure to anything (Server, printer, etc)

Got the MAC removed by Starhub which takes about 7 days, and then connected my Asus A66U to the fibre decoder.

Starhub team have been trying to get me to connect the computer direct to the decoder bypassing the router. (All this does is allows them to put their hands up and say 'not our problem ; it's your router'...) which doesnt help me at all, other than piss me off.

Changed all the cables to Cat 6e No difference

Also the access speed is lousy. check out these numbers taken at different times of the day and week: no better than cable?????

Re: Problems after moving to Fibre Broadband - dropped internet access

in my experience the local bandwidth is better than cable (150mbps fibre plan vs 16mbps cable)

but the outgoing bandwidth to overseas are atrocious

uploading videos with fibre takes LONGER than cable
