Intermittent Disconnection in seconds

Intermittent Disconnection in seconds

Already called many times and being told no problems detected on OpenNet line.

My Webcam keeps resetting due to frequent disconnection

Have sent you many evidence of disconnection from CONTINOUS ping

showing timed out to latency spiking from 4 ms to over 1000 ms whenever

my Webcam gets disconnected.

Please resolve ASAP, thanks

Re: Intermittent Disconnection in seconds

Is your webcam connected to your router via cable or wifi?

Are you pinging the camera or router from the internet?

2 webcams. One on WiFi through ASUS bridge & other on direct LAN through Starhub's DLink. Pinging YouTube website through Laptop's WiFi connected to both D Link & ASUS

Showed repeated Timed Out when I ping the Webcam whilst during disconnection

Re: Intermittent Disconnection in seconds

If you are inside your own house and you can't ping your webcam from your laptop, there's some connection issue within your home network.

If it's an internet related problem, you might have ping problems to youtube or other sites but you should still be able to ping devices within your home.

Re: Intermittent Disconnection in seconds

Will the latency above 1000ms from pinging youtube website cause any disconnection issues on the webcam? Thanks

You should ping thru a wired connection to your main router (I assume it's the D-Link in this case).

Or better yet, wired direct to the ONT (bypassing the router).

If the pings are high with direct ONT connection, then you have a case with Starhub.

BTW, if you are using 868L, I believe other people are having good luck with the newest firmware 1.09, lesser disconnects.

Re: Intermittent Disconnection in seconds

Starhub replaced ONT, Patch Cord & DLink but request time out & latency above 900 ms still persists.

Check signal strength OK from OpenNet Termination Point.

However, do this signal strength check from TP rule out high latency or time out request? Thanks

Re: Intermittent Disconnection in seconds

Btw, mine is not a direct connection. Using old method through ONT & DLINK, so don't think can do a direct ping through ONT...

I assume the D-Link is the DVG-N5402SP.

So what did the Starhub Tech recommend as a follow up for this case?

The optical signal strength check ok just proves it's more of a Starhub problem rather than NetLink Trust problem.
