Early Termination of Fibre Broadband and Cable TV

Hi, 

 

  I am looking at perform an early termination of fibre broadband and cable TV. Like to seek a few clarifications

 

1. What equipment do i need to return to terminate my fibre broadband?

2. Is the termination immediate? (i.e. I can arrange for another ISP provider to come the next day after the termination)

3. What are the charges I will be expecting other than early contract termination fee and fibre cancellation? Can I pay when i return the equipment?

4. What are the equipment i need to return to terminate my cable tv subscription.

I'll answer in numerical order as you've place them, using general answers,

 

1. Please head down to our main stores with your equipment 

- 1 x Optical Network Terminal
- 1 x Fibre Patch Cord
- 1 x UTP Cable
- 1 x Power Adaptor

2. Termination is immediate upon returning of all equipment. 

 

3. Payment will be informed to you, but the actual charges will be posted on your bill.

 

4. Cable TV requires,

- 1x HD Interactive Set-top Box
- 1x Smart Card - 1x RCA Cable (Red/White/Yellow)
- 1x Component Cable (Red/Blue/Green)
- 1x Remote Control
- 1x Power Cord

Hi Jackson, 

 

 Thanks for your prompt reply. With regards to S/N 2, can i confirm that once i return the required equipment to starhub and fibre is terminated, then another ISP can come in immediately (i.e. the next day) to install their services on the port at the FTP that was previously occupied by starhub. Thanks.

You should be able to sign up for another service immediately after, as each Fibre Termination Point has two ports to utilize. Smiley Happy

Hi Jackson,

the issue is that the other port might not have enough bandwidth to support, which is why i need to terminate starhub first so that another ISP can come in to install their services. Pls help confirm. Thanks.

May I understand if the other Fibre Termination Point is currently being utilized? 

 

You may wish to confirm this with the new ISP on the arrangements.

Hi Jackson,

Nope. The other FTP is currently not utilized. Ok. So to reconfirm, once i return the equipment, the fibre services are terminated immediately.

The Fibre services will be terminated upon return of equipment. And there should be no issues signing up with another ISP. 

 

Do check with the new ISP on their arrangements and for them to assist / advise you accordingly.
