I know we can do that, but there are just too many factors, some of which we cannot control. All we can do is just to optimise it, and for you, you managed to achieve 55mbps.

Could also be the interference from cordless phone or baby monitor which are operating at the 2.4ghz frequencies.

If you do it on broadbandspeedtest.starhub.com/speedtest? What are the results that you are getting?

Hi Sglnx,

I did just that although I did the painful step of going through all the channels to be sure that I got the optimum channels. Other than channel 13, the rest of the channels yield a drop in speed and range.

Download/Upload is faster than SGIX.

Download is about the same as Singtel but upload is faster.

You dun have to do the painful step if you have an Android phone. Download inSSIDer and check which channel is less crowded then use that one.

 

Most users set their channel to 'auto', so after some time the 'less crowded' channel might become crowded again. You will need to change channel again if you experienced speed dips.

Acutually, inssider is also avaliable on windows os.
