TV hung at activation in progress msg for more than 10min

I cannot switch channels after more than 10 mins and restarted the modem, and checked if the channel is ready, it says failed verification, asked me retry 5min's time. Tried again, told me failure and to call 1633 but through alllllllll the prompts that i pressed, it says it operated till 9pm, then why does it still ask me to call 1633 for support????? wasted my time and i still don't know if i will be charged or if I can get the channel tomorrow. I could not subscribe to the channel after that.

How can TV be related to modem.
TV is link thru Starhub TV Set-Top box and to the wall Tv point.
And you need to slot in Starhub Smart Card, so as Starhub server could provide you the channels you subscribe.
Unless you mean the modem is the Starhub TV Set-Top box.

Firstly, switch off the Starhub Set-Top box and the TV. The manual for the Set-Top box should be included.
Follow the instructions inside the manual.

If not, then continue. Refer to the link as a guide.
http://www.starhub.com/content/dam/support/tv/products/pdf/dtvcombinedhdbk.pdf page 17 (bottom)
Make sure the Starhub Set-Top box and the TV are switch OFF.
Connect the cable from TV point (wall) to the Set-Top box 'Cable In'.
Next connect the AV cable from Set-Top box to the TV. Follow the color AV cable accordingly.
There is a option for HDMI.
Finally, slot in the Starhub Smart Card into the slot of Set-top box.
The 'chip' on the Smart card should be faced down.
Then, switch on both TV and Set-Top box.
Make sure you to select the correct 'source' on your TV remote control.
Please wait for the connection to Starhub server, so as it will know which channels you subscribe to.

If it failed, you need to switch OFF first.
Remove the Smart card and wait a while. Then re-insert the Smart card and make sure the "chip" is face down.
You may need to repeat couple of times in order to succeed. I had to do it a few times.

Best option is to bring the Starhub Set-Top box and the Smart Card to Starhub Service Center.
They will give you another Set-Top box and maybe another Smart Card. I had done this way.
Calling the "hotline" may not solved the problem, and need to wait a few days to get their technician to come.

Tip:  Do not switch OFF the Set-Top box, let it in Standby "Red led" mode.

Otherwise, you have to repeat the process, which you have to go thru again.

I never switch off the Set-Top box and also Modem & Router.

Hi, yes, it?s the HDMI set top box and my box does not have the smart card
(I could not see 1). I called 1633, they have cancelled and reactivated for
me again. Thanks.
