Help needed to covert from cable to fiber

Can someone contact me on the above please.  Need technical advice on the possibility of having one termination point supporting both broadband and multiple TV points.

Re: Help needed to covert from cable to fiber

Hi,

Each premise do have a Fibre Termination Point (FTP).

This FTP do have 2 ports for 2 ISP(s) for Internet and/or Pay-TV services.

Each ISP has its own ONT (Fibre Optical Network Terminal) for its own services.

ONT would have 4 ports and do include Telephone points for home voice line.

Each ISP would determine how best to utilize the 4 lan ports.

For Starhub ONT Port-1 is for Internet/Router connection.

And ONT Port-2 is for Fibre TV STB (Set Top Box) connection.

While ONT Ports 3 & 4 are void & null, not in use.

So in your case the ONT serve both broadband and TV services.

The Cable coaxial points are no longer applicable when you convert to Fibre network.

However if you want to have more than 1 STB you have to request to Starhub to give you options.

And if you need to have additional wiring, please request Starhub for options.

Do note that TV coaxial points will no longer available for standard TV local channels due to changes from analogue to digital services by IMDA with effect from tomorrow 2019.

Thanks.

Is there a wireless option to connect TV setup boxes to the ONT?

I am hoping not to run wirings.

Afraid this is not possible for now as it require connection from ONT Port-2 to STB (Set Top box).

However they are looking into other options for possible connections such as powerline adapter and/or cable coaxial point.

Do submit > Starhub Fibre upgrade  or  > Online Feedback  for to contact you.
