Did you recently sign up for a new cable broadband plan with us but you’re not sure how to set up your router?
For novices, it might sound complicated - with all the new, unfamiliar terms - but it really isn’t. Simply follow these three steps and you’ll be surfing in no time.
Firstly, connect the coaxial cable from the cable point to your modem.
Next, connect your modem to your router using the LAN cable.
Finally, switch on the power sources of both the modem and the router.
To check if everything is working as it should, check the light status on your modem. You should see four solid lights labelled ‘Power’, ‘Online’, ‘US’ and ‘DS’, and a blinking light labelled ‘LAN’ or ‘Link’.
If this is not what you are seeing, check all your cables and ensure that they are securely connected, and that the screws are tightened.
With your cable all set-up, you can now surf the net knowing that you fixed it all on your own!
