A minimum Main Wallet balance of $8 is required at all time.

As Balance means after deducting the cost of the data plan.

It is better to leave more balance so that should you use the phone for calls, sms, which may fall below the $8 requirement.

Do download and use the Happy Prepaid app, as it is complete guide for usage.

Do note that you need to activate the new Prepaid SIM card.

Activate the Prepaid SIM is by either making a call or sms.

Before you leave, do ensure all the setting is done, such as; activate roaming on the Happy Prepaid app, and any other changes/settings, if nec.

This is due to that to log in to Happy Prepaid app, there will be a sms on the pin number send to the phone with the Prepaid SIM in order to log in.

I have activated my roaming for 3 days this morning (30 Sep) to be used in Malaysia. However, upon arrival there is no service at all.

I have restarted my phone and re-installed the APN. Not sure what went wrong but it has caused a lot of inconvenience upon my arrival!

Hi Support,

I've got a bad situation. I was overseas (Canada) and need data roaming. While using wifi in my temp apartment, I bought the 30 days 1.2GB plan and left with about a few dollars left. So I top up another $20 to get the roaming data working. When I went out, the roaming data works and all good. However, after a few mins, it stops working and I got the message that my balance is too low and roaming is deactivated. I checked the app and my balance is dropped to a few dollars! Where did the money go to? I can't be using much data as the app is still showing that i have 1.1+GB of data left.

So I top up another $10 while back with wifi, same thing happen again. It works for a while and the balance drops back to few dollars. Where did the money go to? How can I get my roaming to work without constantly eating up my balances? How can I check where my balances go to?

Thanks

3 points that spring to mind to check.

after you topped up did you purchase a data plan?

are you on the correct network, I think in Canada it is 'Rogers
communications'.

check your happy app has roaming on and is setup correctly(should be
already).

I am not with starting, but hope this helps

Did you purchase Happy roam Data plan or just data?  Did you disable phone OS and app updates?

I purchased the data plan then top up all while on wifi. The only thing is I didn't check the network that I'm on. You are right, I might be on other network so its using normal roaming data. I'll set it to Rogers and see how it goes. Thanks for the reminder!

The problem with Canada is that there is no single network can cover the less-populated areas.

i dont understand how one can be penalised for roaming on another network! I dont think that's fair or even right?!
Anyway i think if it strays to another network, u will not even have data connnection.

So does it mean I also have to monitor my phone such that it does not strays to another network?! that is crazyyyyyy!
anyway , where can we know what are the network operators for Happyroam in the various countries. There used to be one...i cant find it anymore. I still remembered once when I transited in Malaysia, i couldnt use my Data! I believe it was not connected to the preferred partner and i couldnt find it! Luckily I was in the lounge.

All roaming operators in eligible countries shown at www.starhub.com/happyroam are supported.

We've shared that all roaming operators in eligible Happy Roam countries are supported.

However, network coverage and speeds when overseas is dependent on the partner network. So users are welcome to switch to another operator if they find that the current one they're logged on to is not strong enough.
