SamKnows Monthly Report

I'm starting this thread to let everyone have an insight of the boardband capabilities of Starhub Maxinfinity.

April Report

Starhub is actually doing good on the international upstream and downstream. It is actually than most of the other ISP (for 100mbps) in both international upstream and downstream. The performance is dependent on your location as well. Anyone else doing this test for Samknows, please feel free to post your reports as well. Smiley Happy

I believe that your wireless surfing experience improved after I have done the Direct ONT for you?

Just trying to interprete the information, but they appear pretty scary and bad to me. I know you know look at the average.. but to me, the worst case scenerio would be a better interpretation of how well managed is the network. Especially the packet losses. It suggest to me that the network is down for certain period of time.. 50% packet losses would be almost unuseable... Would be good to have a Starhub engineer explain the results...

Local Upstream Bandwidth of minimum : 8.11mbps (I assume this is below Starhub guarantee...)

International Upstream bandwidth minimum : 1.68Mbps (Seems pretty bad to me)

Local latency maximum: 37ms

Local packet losses maximum : 15.88%

International packet losses (maximum) : 53.47%

the packet loss might be because i tweek my router almost every day, flashing firmwares and stuff. Anyway, you can check the reports of other isp and make a comparison.

Do you have a hourly report ? Especially international ? I'm down to considering going with M1 (price much better) or Singtel. I've a few more months left on my contract. Penalty of $350, I think I'll go ahead and pay starhub and break contract....

Pardon me, where should I get the exterlink for my report? I'm on mobile.

Anyone on 1gb to compare with mine?
I will post my report later once I get the link to it.

My only concern is the international speed and latency issues. It seems that StarHub routing is bad for international route.

Need the expertise advise here before I email to their helpdesk.

I don't think they provide external link any more.

Nowadays it's just an email.

Last time they used to (more than a year ago).
