High Latency in World of Warcraft

Hi Starhub,

 

Recently these past few days most players I know using Starhub as their ISP (including me) have been experiencing unreasonably high latency while playing (ranges from 6k-10k ms type of lag). We've posted on the World of Warcraft forums to see if they could diagnose the issue but to not much success. Every other Internet function seems to be working fine (other online games, surfing the net, etc. all still smooth), however it is only when in World of Warcraft we seem to be encountering an issue. Is there something you could look into regarding the issue? Only Starhub users seem to be encountering the issue as other players using other ISPs seem to be fine. Will link my winMTR test below for further evidence to look into

Having same issue here!

Please fix it Starhub team.

 

I am considering to change to other ISP if this happens every year or half yearly.

Im having the same issue. I have raised a CS ticket which is being bounced back and forth.

 

It this isnt resolved shortly or if we dont get some form of senior engineer input I will be taking this direct to your CXOs:

Really tired that in order to get some form of service from this company you need to go all the way to the top before someone listens. Had an issue changing to new contract on my new address 3 weeks ago. Couldnt get someone in store to sort the probnlem. Emailed Johan and its sorted in 12 hours.

 

Seems this is the only way people actually do their jobs.

How can this be prevented? We can’t have this like every 6 months? Many of my friends have since switched to MR caused of this issue.

its fixed already.. prob someone rebooted a switch or something

Broken again as of this evening.

 

Massive lag spikes. Game completely unplayable. Router and modem rebooted. No effect.

Here is my response to what you asked (Read via the email notification that is sent when someone PMs you)

 

Yes I have. I am normally hardlined in. Its way faster than Wifi. However the issue is present with both Wifi and Direct.

 
I have had this issue before in Jan and it was NOT unique to me alone. Go check the wow forums. Loads of people posted there last night. This is a *STARHUB* problem. Im so tired of Starhub support telling me to direct line into my modem. This might work for people who dont understand IT and show that you are trying to fix something but Im an IT developer by trade so I know that this has NOTHING to do with my setup. I really wish you people would stop pretending like it does. Maybe then we can get to the source of the problem without spending all the time going back and forth with people who do not understand basic networking like I had to in January.
 
 
You cant tell me that all these people, likely in different parts of SG are having the same problem with their own setup.....
