Cisco DPC 3925

As the signal for the built-in wireless router is not strong enough, can I connect a Dlink router DIR-615 to one of the ethernet ports of this cisco modem? How to I set it up or configure the network?? Thanks.

Yup. You can do so via bridge mode.

Hey, try to connect the lan port from your modem to your router and see if it works. Also, disable your modem's wifi as it will increase noise to your router.

Please remember to enable DMZ and input the IP Address of the D-Link router into your DPC3925. Let me know if you need the steps.

Re: Cisco DPC 3925

As I am a tech-nerd, please can I know the instructions and step-by-step guidance... I have already connect one port from Cisco modem to the Dlink router (behind Internet plug), but the Dlink router is not receiving Internet signal (as displayed by RED led lighted globe).
Thanks a million again :smileyhappy:

Re: Cisco DPC 3925

Connect one of the LAN ports of your second D-Link router to the LAN port of the Cisco modem. Do not use the Internet port of D-Link. Follow the below steps on D-Link before connecting the router to Cisco.

1. Connect your PC to D-Link and log in to the D-Link ( Default IP 192.168.0.1)

2. Go to network setting>Change the router IP address to 192.168.0.2

3. Uncheck the Enable DHCP server

4. Save settings and restart the D-Link

5. Now connect One LAN Port of D-Link to a LAN port on cisco.

Your D-Link network will be able to access internet now. As mentioned by fellow forumer disable your cisco wireless to minimize interference.

Cheers.
